HEATH MICROCHEK PRESS
|
|
The
Heath sheet-fed Microchek Press is a microprocessor controlled
press designed exclusively for producing MICR encoded checks
and documents. It will successfully produce pocket checks,
laser checks, pegboard checks, three-to-a-page checks, duplicate
checks, internal bank documents and payment coupons. |
|
| |
With
the use of the patented Heath turret design and the unique
quick-change plate system, down time between jobs is reduced
to under 15 seconds. When running pocket checks 15 up on
the Microchek Press, experienced operators are capable of
producing in excess of 1,400 orders in an eight hour shift.
The production of laser checks on the Microchek Press will
approach 150 orders per shift when running 2 up in quantities
of 500. |

SPECIFICATIONS:
INKING
SYSTEM
The traditional ink fountain is replaced by a two-roller system
that continuously mills the ink. Simple ink adjustments are made
electronically from the micro-processor control pad. Each form
roller has its own oscillator roller to ensure a uniform flow
of ink. Once adjusted, this unique setup requires little or no
operator intervention.
COMMON IMPRESSION CYLINDER
The common impression cylinder holds the press sheet with the
same set of grippers for offset printing and numbering, ensuring
positive registration between offset printing, gothic numbering
and MICR encoding.
PROGRAMMABLE
CONTROLS
The microprocessor control system operates the press through a
selected sequence. The system will automatically control numbering,
non-numbering and indexing cycles.
CHECK
DISCRIMINATOR
A photoelectric check/deposit slip discriminator reads a code
in the margin of each sheet to identify checks. The numbering
unit automatically lifts off impression while the press prints
deposit slips.
QUICK-CHANGE
PLATE SYSTEM
The press can be programmed to automatically stop at the end of
a run for a plate change. This function includes a stop-at-home
feature that causes the plate cylinder to stop in the exact location
required to hang the next plate. This feature, coupled with the
unique foot operated plate clamp allows the operator to mount
and position a plate in seconds.
